In 2022, the festival was honoured to have Mikel Renteria & The Walk On Project Band on stage, performing a magnificent repertoire of songs full of energy that filled the Bilbao Arena with emotions, touching the souls of those who were there.
This band was born with the purpose of supporting and giving visibility to The Walk On Project (WOP) Foundation, which develops several lines of activity to fight against neurodegenerative diseases, with professionalism, courage and love.
With its own resources, the foundation has financed several international projects which focus on the search for regenerative therapies for this type of disease, aimed at slowing down its evolution and reversing the damage.
In addition to Mikel Renteria & The Walk On Project Band giving their best on stage, the festival participated in WOP’s big event: the Estropatada, a unique “Wopatos” race and a big family party held in the Bilbao’s estuary, with the world’s first bioducks made from plant-based materials.
The Legends did not want to miss the opportunity to participate in this unique race with their own “WOPpaton Legends”.
That year, the event—which fills the town of Bilbao with solidarity, family activities and music—had the collaboration of the BBK Bilbao Music Legends Fest, which provided performances by the Bilbao bands Kiky Boys and Blues Morning Singers, along with WOP. They brought together an enthusiastic audience after having participated in the Estropatada.
